Why Valor Healthcare is Leading the Charge in Digital Health Services for Veterans

As healthcare rapidly evolves, the importance of integrating technology to improve patient care cannot be overstated. At Valor Healthcare, we’re committed to being at the forefront of digital health services, especially for our nation’s veterans. Our recent selection as one of four companies to provide Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM) and Home Telehealth (HT) services for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) marks a significant milestone in our journey to redefine veteran healthcare. This $1.032 billion contract highlights our leadership in delivering high-quality, connected care to veterans across the country.

For me, this mission is personal. As a U.S. Army veteran, I have seen the sacrifices our men and women in uniform make, and I understand the healthcare challenges veterans face when they transition back to civilian life. After serving in the Army, I spent 10 years in private medical practice, and in 2007, I joined Valor Healthcare. I’ve had the honor of serving veterans in various capacities, from being a Clinic Medical Director to now leading Valor as President and CEO. Our focus has always been to provide the best possible care to veterans, and with the advancements in telehealth and RPM, we can do more than ever before.

Why Valor is Committed to Leading in Digital Health

Our mission at Valor is simple: provide exceptional care to veterans. With RPM and HT, we’re expanding our ability to meet veterans where they are, particularly those in rural or underserved areas. Veterans often face significant barriers to healthcare, whether due to geographic isolation or mobility challenges. RPM and HT allow us to bridge these gaps by offering real-time monitoring of chronic health conditions directly from veterans’ homes.

This approach not only ensures that veterans receive timely interventions, but it also empowers them to take a more active role in managing their health. By leveraging digital tools, we’re able to monitor vital signs, detect potential health risks early, and adjust care plans accordingly, improving overall health outcomes. Our goal is to make healthcare as accessible, proactive, and personalized as possible.

A Focus on Veterans and Chronic Care Management

The VA’s RPM-HT contract is designed to serve at least 72,000 veterans with chronic and acute care needs. For veterans managing conditions like diabetes, hypertension, or heart disease, remote monitoring provides an essential lifeline. These tools allow veterans to stay connected with their care teams without needing frequent in-person visits, which can be challenging for those living in rural areas or with mobility restrictions.

Moreover, this contract is the largest RPM initiative in the federal government, and Valor is the only private company offering both in-person care at outpatient clinics and virtual care through RPM-HT services. This dual approach ensures that veterans receive comprehensive care tailored to their specific needs—whether that’s a visit to one of our clinics or remote support through digital health tools.

The Path Forward: A Commitment to Innovation and Care

At Valor Healthcare, we’ve assembled a team of industry leaders in RPM and telehealth technology, all united by a common purpose: to provide the best care for veterans. The pandemic accelerated the adoption of remote healthcare services, and we’re fully committed to continuing this momentum as part of the VA’s broader healthcare modernization efforts.

The future of veteran healthcare is digital, and Valor Healthcare is proud to lead the way. Our mission has always been to honor the service of our veterans by delivering the highest quality care possible. With RPM and HT, we’re expanding our ability to do just that, ensuring veterans across the country have access to the care they deserve—anytime, anywhere.
